Mother, The Kids Are Not Alright: The Push + Pull of LGBTQ Movements in West Africa

The continent of Africa is home to the world’s oldest, ancient civilizations—incubators of life, culture, and longstanding human progress, which have influenced all aspects of our modern society. It has also become home to virulent displays of homophobia, where hatred of the LGBTQ+ community is upheld in both de jure and de facto structures. On tonight’s episode, we speak with Abdul-wadud Mohammed of LGBT Rights Ghana to talk about the February 24th raid and closure of the recently opened LGBT center in Accra.
